Round Pond Trailhead Rock Climbing
"Back in the day" this was an area used for beginner training. We used to call it the "Waterman Slab" for Guy Waterman who, while leading a beginner's ice climbing trips for the NY-AMC would often use it.
In recent years I have noted that it hasn't iced up...at least nowhere near what it used to be. Perhaps the drainage has changed?
Park at Round Pond Trailhead parking and walk towards Keene Valley on the right (east) side of the road. You should see the slab (and ice, if it's "in) through the woods about 100-150 ft in.
