Description
Rote Wand (Red Wall) is a mountain in the Grazer Bergland region. The peak is 1505 meters (a little over 4937 feet) tall. The rock is a limestone type with many sections exhibiting a very strong red color that is quite dramatic looking.
There are many climbing routes available in a variety of difficulties. The multi-pitch routes tend to be fairly well bolted but bringing some gear is definitely recommended for certain routes or at the very least certain runout sections.
Descent:
After finishing the route, continue up briefly until you hit the marked (red-white-red) hiking path. Follow this path to the left back to the parking lot. For routes on the right side of the wall you can also follow the path to the right. It then loops around, passes underneath the wall and joins back into the forrest road that leads back to the parking lot.
