This small, unique boulder sits inches away from Flagstaff Road and you've likely driven, biked, ran, or pogo-ed past it numerous times. You may have noticed the four drill holes located on the side of the boulder facing the road. Road Sign Rock (and a few nearby boulders) host a few interesting problems, the most popular being the Northwest Overhang (B1).

Getting There

Park in the same dirt pullout as for the Capstain boulder or Cloud Shadow area. Get out of your auto and walk uphill past the Capstain, which will be on your right, then look across the road at the rock with four drill holes - that's Road Sign Rock.

Climbing Season

For the Flagstaff area.

This unique problem is shaded much of the day, is low to the ground and offers the best landing possible. Locate the chalked up sloper-rail on the Northwestern side of Road Sign Rock. When facing the problem, sit-start down and right from the rail. Your hands will be on opposing slopey side-pulls. Move up, left, and up again...... the problem is obvious. This is classic Flagstaff V2 / B1....[more]   Browse More Classics in Colorado
