I will be in Boulder for business until the evening of Thursday, August 29th. I would love to get up to RMNP on Friday to do a route car-to-car, since I've never climbed in the Park or even been there. Anyone interested in doing a classic on a weekday? My choice would be South Face of Petit Grepon, but I'd listen to other suggestions. I'm definitely looking to do a moderate, well-traveled classic though; I am not interested in epic-ing. I need to get back to Grand Junction by Friday night.
I haven't climbed much in the last 6 months due to a partner's injury, but I am completely comfortable doing 5.8 alpine off the couch, and my fitness and altitude acclimatization is good (just did Monarch Crest bike trail a few days ago with no issues at all). Lots of experience with alpine multipitch trad in California, Washington, and Canada. I am safe and competent and expect the same from my partners.
If anyone wants to show a RMNP newbie around, I'll buy the beer afterwards in town!
Hmmmm... I'm definitely interested in that... But needless to say I'm apprehensive. You've never been up here? Haven't climbed in HOW many months?? We haven't climbed together or even met???? Do you fully understand what you're getting into? What gear do you have? That fucking hike ALONE is pretty intense.... I'm still interested tho...Hahah... Does that make me crazy! We should ATLEAST meet up before hand and discuss logistics. PM me...we'll go from there
