I am relatively new to the area and have started climbing at the quarry within the last year. Although its not the most scenic place i have ever climbed, the close proximity and the high quality of routes make it a great place to climb.

Recently, we saw the fence go up around the quarry with no trespassing signs put up. Then fence was almost immediately driven through and destroyed.

My question is this: should we as climbers be concerned? I don't believe that it was climbers that drove through the fence, but will the owners even care to ask this question? Should be take preventive steps to ensure that the quarry stays open? If yes, what could we do?

I am not at all familiar with the the quarry ownership or access issues. In the past i have seen great climbing areas shut down because the land was so trashed, and the owners just don't feel like dealing with it any longer.

Does anyone have some insight on this issue?
