Most of the rock climbs in this area are southfacing with a somewhat steeper and longer approach then those found in logan canyon proper. Also home of the best ice climbing route in logan, "Last Chance Falls."

Getting There

This area is found 9 miles up Logan Canyon on US-89 right across from where parking for China cave exists. Turn right onto a paved road, immediately after the bridge, that heads southeast. If you see the sign for Wood Camp Campground or Jardine Juniper, you've gone too far on US-89

Last Chance Falls WI3+  Utah : Wasatch Range : ... : Right Hand Fork
Easily the best ice climb in the logan area. 100 feet of beautiful green ice that forms quite reliably every winter, about 30 feet wide at the start and around 20 feet at the top. The first 15 feet are about 75 degrees, followed by a gully of 45 degree to 60 degree ice, with the crux 25 feet of vertical ice at the end. There is a less vertical/direct route that ascends the left side of the falls, which decreases the rating and pump. Easily toproped via the fat descent tree. ...[more]   Browse More Classics in Utah
