Visible from the road on the drive up this non-descript fin of rock sits just downslope from the ever popular Hungover Wall and hosts a solitary route on it's west face - Rex (5.12c), a thin, crimpy and delicate testpiece of the area.

Getting There 

Perhaps best approached from the Hungover Wall parking area and walking the short distance downhill to the formation. Plan on a strenuous 1-2 minute approach and be warned it's uphill on the way back.

Orignally done as a 5.11 A0 route this route was later freed and named after Dave's dog which seems appropriate as you need to tap the animal inside to succeed on this technical line.Easy moves gain the first bolt and then it's on as you negotiate the super thin crimps and sparse feet of the barely vertical crux which is more like a V5 boulder problem. That description of the approach to Rex Rock is funny, Chris. I always hate to lose elevation, especially when I know how exhausting it will be to regain it later.
