Description

Located a short drive south of Rotorua. A few nice single pitch sport and trad routes. An interesting style of climbing often relying technique rather than brute force. Most of the rock is decently solid and holds sound gear you can fall on (with some exceptions).

This crag from time to time gets a little overgrown, as at November 2016 half the climbs had vegetation cleared off them and were in great shape.

Getting There

From Rotorua take state highway 5 south towards Taupo. Stay on state highway 5 till you pass the Reporoa Dairy Factory then turn left to Reporoa. At the round about turn right down Broadlands road. 5 km down the road turn left on to East rd on you left. A few kms down east road "Reparoa scenic reserve" will be on your left (just after a small bridge). Only take your car part way down the track/road unless you have good ground clearance.

Unique climbing. Head up a series of scoops with tricky mantle moves. Finish at double bolt anchors. **Spoiler alert** no Polish maid at the top.A short second pitch is possible on gear through the steep roof/crack above. Also finishes at a bolted belay....[more]   Browse More Classics in International
