Description Suggest change

This is a newly developed area (2015) of Clear Creek Canyon, there are about 22 routes currently. The areas within Renegade vary as far as Sun and shade so there is always somewhere to climb. The area is on State Trust land so access is good, however you do drive through Hopi ranch land so please travel with respect or this could cause issues.

The area mostly consists of high quality sandstone, however there is an upper band of limestone none of which has yet been developed. The canyon gets water on occasion as the dam is opened up south on the rim and sometimes in the early spring melt, this can cut off the climbing in the canyon but there is usually always access to the routes in the Waterfall and Pool areas. The waterfall only flows when heavy rains have hit the area and Corbet Tank overflows into the wash.

There is plenty of rock to be developed so grab your drill when you head out and add a route or two for everyone to enjoy! I will add more route info later along with pictures once I get them sorted.

MAKE SURE THAT YOU CHECK OUT THE PHOTO TOPOS IN THE SUBAREAS!

Getting There Suggest change

Take Highway 99 (same as Winslow Wall) go about 5 miles past the turnoff for Winslow Wall (just past mile marker 32) and you will see a dirt road (on the right) that heads off North to Northwest. Take this road for approximately 2.4 miles and curve right continue for another 1.4 miles and then turn right. After turning right go about 200 feet and find a turn to the left. Follow this road 0.4 mile to a dead end at a couple of trees, park here. Walk about 200 feet northwest directly towards the canyon wash and find a pretty easy hike down into the wash. Follow the wash north towards the canyon until you come to the waterfall, once at the waterfall look right and find a fairly easy traverse to your right and then follow the path down into the canyon.
