Description

There are three sectors here separated by a short distance between each. The two big ones (Left and Right) are both east-facing and receive sun in the morning. With the exception of the left side, these take a while to dry after a rain.
The climbing is mostly easy stuff, so this is a fantastic place for beginners to come. Also, the north side is great for kids.

Getting There

The GPS coordinates point to the parking area in Bärnfels. This parking area is located at the north-east end, when headed towards Weidenhüll/Soranger. Walk from here 40m further north and cross the street to head down a dirt road as it turns left into the woods. At the fork head right. After 150m you'll see the left side. After about another 100m is the big cave and in another 50m is the right side. If you continue down the path for another 20m you'll be able to head left uphill to reach the north side, which is called the Kinderkessel.

Climbing Season

For the Frankenjura area.

Another phenomenal route, but not as well protected as Drachenwand. Just follow the obvious crack that runs from bottom to top on the left side of the crag....[more]   Browse More Classics in International
