I had plans to climb at Rumney tomorrow and Wednesday (4th and 5th). I heard there was a lot of flooding in Grafton County- Baker River Campground said they were temporarily closed when I called due to flooding. Anybody know an update on access into Rumney from the north or south, or if it has affected climbing?
I've got the same plan and these are these only closures I can find. Waze shows 25 being closed west of Rumney but no closures if you're coming from 93. But I'm also curious about the climbing conditions and if buffalo road has any damage
Rob, I just found http://newengland511.org and it appears to show 25 being open. I imagine it's accurate since other roads in the area are shown as closed due to floods...
Just got back from rumney. I take 93 north to get there and everything was open and it seems like nothing was too damaged as far as the main roads. Some wet rock and slippery trails in parts but everything seemed to be fine otherwise. I know some smaller side roads may have gotten damaged so I can't speak to that.
The mountain itself is fine other than a lot of seepage that isn't normal for this time of the year. You won't have any issues getting to the parking lots (which are also dry).
