200-300 foot walls on the south side of canyon. There are a handfull of corner/crack lines, as well as a hand full of more difficult and high quality face climbs.

The Razors Edge feature provides one of the best views in Linville Gorge.

Getting There

The best approach to the RJ trail is listed on the main page. From here, turn left and walk a few minutes (about 2-3) to the next trail leading down and right. Follow this down and right (passing the Zen Point turnoff on the left), then a small creek, to the top of the cliff. The path forks, with the left fork working its way down into the canyon (3rd class), and the right one going to the overlook's. Total time should be no more than 5 minutes from the RJ trail.

Approach Beta:
I thought I might add a few notes on getting into the Razor's Edge Canyon. There is a social trail that leaves the Rock Jock trail and heads down towards the river. It's sort of hard to describe the location of the trail, but basically it's in a stand of dense pine trees, and is well defined. After descending along this trail for a hundred feet or so, it will split with a trail heading off to the left (North) and a trail continuing to descend down towards the river. Zen Canyon is accessed by heading off to the left.

To access the Razor's Edge Canyon, head straight down, and after an 1/8 mile you will encounter another major split. Here, a tree will have a small metal sign indicating that continuing straight will lead to the Razor's point. Instead of doing this, go left and cross a small stream. Currently, the trail is well maintained and well cut. It continues down along a ledge system above a large cliff. The Razor's Edge Canyon is across the divide, and the obvious features will become apparent.

The trail continues to the incredibly expose Razor's Edge. I would highly recommend walking onto that feature to get your bearings. It's also a pretty amazing place to be! I think the easiest way of getting down into the gully would be to rap the cliff you walk above by a chimney.
