Quebrada Rurec Rock Climbing
South of Huaraz, above the village of Olleros, the Rurec Valley gently cuts through the impressive Huantsan Massif. The alpine peaks Shacqsha 5703, Cashan 5716, Rurec 5700, and Urushraju 5722 tower above the head of the valley while it's lower flanks yield some of the Cordillera Blanca's best concentrations of granite formations. The valley is relatively quiet and sees much less traffic than the popular northern quebradas.
Get a ride to Olleros and start hiking. Hiring an arriero in Olleros isn't a challenge.
