Deep in the woods of Pennsylvania lies the mystical Quebec Run Wild Area. Popular with fishermen, hikers, and bikers, this area also holds untold treasures within its various cliff lines and boulder fields. At present, only one such area has been appraised, and it is a gem in and of itself. However, there is extensive untapped potential, particularly for bouldering, throughout the entire area, but particularly along the upper reaches of Tebolt and Quebec Run.

That being said, it's all back country. Longer hikes, rough terrain, thick vegetation, and lots of bugs. Be prepared for anything, especially bears and skunks.

The rock itself is gritstone, but unique in the fact that cracks, and thus pure crack climbs are fairly common, along with natural protection.

Getting There

Drive up route 40 outside of Uniontown towards Hopwood. Head all the way up the Summit, then turn onto Skyline Drive, the same as Laurel Caverns. Drive all the way past the entrance to the Forbes State Forest Pondfield Office, and be aware for a sharp turn in the road. Here, the directions differ for the two crags. Please refer to each crag for specifics from here.
