Matt getting ready to gain the first sloper

One of the harder p.e. problems in SB, Purgatory links a lot of awesome difficult moves into one sweet package that's pretty much as good as it gets. The crux is simply maintaining enough composure to crank the last big move on the Outlaw after cranking through the crux of Zombie...with no rest (sounds straightforward enough right?).

Shares the same start as Zombie but finishes on the Outlaw rather than continuing to traverse through Akibas.

Couple pads and a spotter to shuffle them around for you.

Bernd (first ascentionist) calls it V9. I think it's the same grade as Zombie, but a bit more powerful.

That makes sense to me. Although purgatory's moves are harder there are less of them whereas Zombie has easier moves but a lot more of them.

Finally got it after falling off the last move 30 or so times. One of the coolest climbs in Santa Barbara. It has a little bit of everything for everyone.
