Traversing Punk Rock, 1981.
Punk Rock doesn't look like much from most vantage points around Rotary Park, but this diminutive rock is in fact home to a super-classic traverse problem that follows excellent holds on the squat, steep west face of the block. If you're running laps on the standard traverse, get down low and attack that more difficult Kelly Traverse, which utilizes smaller holds lower on the face and goes at V8. As with many traverses at Rotary, a couple up-and-over problems can be put together at a few points along the west face. Also, an easier traverse can be completed on the north face.
Follow the trail from the south end of the parking lot around the ridgeline to the Cat's Eye Face, turning left as for the Talent Scout
block, but walk past and head northwest. The trail passes Punk Rock and reaches a fork, where you can turn sharp left (south) and reach the west face of the block.

Traverse along the face without using the top (two variations for finish include the standard by staying on the finishing rail, or using the slopers on the top of the rock). Very fun power endurance, once you become very familiar reverse the problem. Or start working ...[more] Browse More Classics in Colorado
