Providence Canyon Ice Rock Climbing

The ice climbs up Providence Canyon are located near an old limestone quarry. The quarry is obvious from the large tailings piles. The climbs on the northern side can be much more fickle. The entire area around the quarry is susceptible to rockfall so use caution when under cliffs, especially in the spring or during times of large temperature swings.
The road up Providence Canyon is unpaved and only the bottom 1/2 mile is plowed in winter. It is a popular destination for snowmobilers, which makes the road well packed for accessing the climbs by skiing or hiking. There is a parking area 1/2 mile up the canyon that fills with snowmobile trailers on weekends. 4WD vehicles can continue further up the canyon but deep snow usually restricts access. In 2011 flooding washed out much of the road base at the bottom of the canyon so use caution if attempting the road in the spring.
The climbs are found near an old limestone quarry about 2-1/4 miles from the parking area.
