soggy bottom boulder

The Profile Boulders have a short approach and good rock for the most part. You will almost never see others around you except for the occasional climber coming down the Eaglet trail.

Getting There

Take exit 34 B off 93 and take the left hand turn before reaching the areal tramway. Park by the Profile House and walk around its right side, following the bike path south under the interstate tunnel. The trail to the Eaglet is straight in front of you. Clusters of boulders are found there and in the surrounding area.

Rock Climbing Photo: A fun arete with a great landing.

Old Gregs Arete V2 5+  New Hampshire : WM: Franconia Notch : ... : Soggy Bottom Boulder
You can choose your start:Either the obvious Jug or a somewhat hidden 4 finger pocket under the roof. I have done both and they feel about the same grade (the start from the pocket is more fun IMO..... After choosing your start slap up the arete until you feel it's time to throw a heel and go onto the slab. A very fun interesting climb that shouldn't be missed if you're bouldering here....[more]   Browse More Classics in New Hampshire
