Fun, south facing, ~100ft tall crag next to the Wilderness of Rock trail. Easy/Moderate sport climbing on good quality granite. Cliff becomes low angle at top of routes so Fixe ring bolt anchors allow climbers to rappel off. Left most routes can be toproped by hiking around west side of crag and scrambling to the top. When toproping, please use draws or slings through ring bolts to reduce anchor wear.

Located at 8000ft, this is a great crag for warmer weather climbing.

Getting There

Hike the Marshall Gulch trail to the junction with the Wilderness of Rocks trail. Follow the Wilderness of Rocks trail downhill until the trail flattens out and look for the obvious crag just 10ft from the trail. The approach is approximately 1.5 miles.

We had a fun day at the primus wall. An especially good spot for kids: if they're not climbing, there is endless exploring to be had...
In addition to the 6 climbs at the "main" wall we found 4 more mixed climbs on the backside (south) of the next crag down-valley (westward). All 4 start with a couple of bolts and finish on finger to hand size gear. Grade-wise they're all 8 to 9; 50 to 60 feet high. Single rack to #3 was sufficient for us.

There are actually 7 routes here. I think the 3rd from the left of the big Ponderosa that has a protectable crack is the one missing? Also, potential for a few harder routes on the right side. Got bolts and drill?
