Seasonal Raptor Closures January 1- July 31st MORE INFO >>>

Description

A crux start eases slowly as the holds take shape higher up. This has quality climbing on great rock.

Location

After climbing one of the routes (Hollow Flake, Zamboni Man, Sprout Route) to gain the ledge with a pine tree. Start just right of the pine tree ascending a thin slab to better holds near the top. Rappel off.

Protection

Bolts, chain anchor.

Great route. The crux almost stumped me. Fortunately it is the first move of the route, so it is easy to work it over. It is extremely balancy on sloper holds. If you can get past the crux, you still have to scour the face, looking for any friction you can find for the first 25". After that, it eases a little but is still solid 5.10 climbing until the last 30" or so where it finally yields some jugs.

I had a lot of fun on this route. It is every bit as fun as Zamboni Man, much longer, and the crux is especially memorable.

Another fun route. Thanks, Bill, for putting up so many great routes at Elevenmile! This route is very well-protected with some classic Elevenmile slab climbing down low to a more featured (and easier) second half.
