Road & nearby private property MORE INFO >>>

Description

Climb the twin, right-leaning cracks on the left side of the Post Office Wall. This is one sweet trad pitch, thought provoking and pumpy the whole way. One of the earlier routes put up at Thunder, this is an area classic.

Location

East wall of the WASP Canyon, left side near the back of the canyon. This wall is known as the Post Office. Start appx. 20' right of the bolted route Heavy Water.

Protection

Standard rack, 2 bolt anchor.

There is a bolted line directly to the right of Powder Monkey... anyone know the name, grade or first ascentionist?

It's called Goin' Postal, put up by Mike Johnson and Kevin McLaughlin. They rated it .12-.

What is the route maybe three routes to the right of Powder Monkey? There are some nice vertical cracks (BD #0.5~0.75 size) to a single bolt crux (maybe easy twelve) to a cool finger and hand crack?

Sounds like Papa's Got a Brand New Crag, Phil. From PM rightward, it goes Goin Postal .12-, Stranglehold .11- , Papa .11, and Bandu .12-.

Truly amazing route. Bring small wires and up to finger sizes, and you should be fine. Enjoy this gem!

A fixed nut is stuck where the crux gear goes. The WIRE is BROKEN. Bring a hammer to get this piece of junk out. It is a bit of a runout through the crux, and the broken wire is in the way of getting the best piece in at the crux. I was able to get a #3 BD nut but could have gotten a larger one with a bigger wire (guess the small wires do break) if the broken one is removed.

11/9/14. Long story short, my draws were left on the top of this route due to a friend's injury! I'm hoping to go back here next possible day, but if anyone grabs these, I'd happily buy them craft beer/30 bucks/you can make out with my cute roomates. PM me, I live in South Denver.... Awesome Freakin' route though!

The mangled nut has been cleaned, thanks to whoever took care of it!
