Possible move to Bend

Hey everyone, I am heading to Bend for a job interview this week, and if I get the job will need to find a place to live. I was laid off from my job in Colorado Springs back in early November, so I'm obviously a little low on cash to put down a deposit and 1st months rent on a new place.

Anyone out there in the MP community looking for a roommate? I will (hopefully) be moving out there with one well behaved (although energetic) black lab/greyhound mix. I'd like to find a cheap place to live with some other climbers/mountain bikers/outdoor enthusiasts.

Note: I feel that I need to apologize in advance from coming from the Springs, considering the recent draw theft event at Smith Rock by a Colorado Springs "climber."

dan, that's great! hope the interview goes well and you get to spend some time in bend - definitely a really, really cool place. good, diverse climbing in the upper and lower gorge. great beer, cool people. terrific oportunity. keep us posted on how things are going finding a place up there.

Hey man good luck with the job interview! I live outside of Terrebonne which is about 40 minutes or so from Bend. I have a truck camper you are welcome to crash in until you get on your feet. An acre of fenced in yard and a golden retriever. I landed in central Oregon this past fall (from colorado as well) and fell in love with the climbing, the people, and yes the beer lol. Good luck and feel free to drop me a line on here!

Hey everyone, thanks for the replies. Just got back from Bend and it was a great trip! Really excited about the prospect of moving there now. The interview went really well, and I'll know in a week or so whether I have the job or not. The start date is Feb 1st, but I'd probably head out a bit before that. I'll keep you all posted on what happens.

Aaron, I'm not really sure what I'm looking for specifically, but I'm pretty flexible. Month to month might be best for me for just moving there and figuring things out, but I can go either way.

Terry, really appreciate the generous offer and I might need to temporarily take you up on it. If not, we'll definitely need to meet up for climbing and beer.

As I said, I'll let you guys know what happens and hopefully I'll be out there climbing with you all soon!

Awesome Dan! That's rad. These forums are full of people taking jobs or thinking of taking jobs in crappy towns with crap/no climbing. You scored!

edit to add- Ladies, look what's coming to Bend!

Good for you man! Offer still stands if you need it!

Haha thanks Hank! ... but not too much for them to get excited about

Terry, I might still take you up on your generous offer, thanks again.

Also, if there are any climbers out there in downtown Bend looking for a roommate, even if it is only for a few months, let me know. As stated above, it will be me and my dog (black lab/greyhound mix).

Arriving in Bend tomorrow, will be looking at some housing options and since I'm not starting work until Feb 7th, I'll definitely be looking to get out to Smith beforehand and will need some new partners to climb with.
