This South-East facing vertical wall houses some great routes on relatively good quality limestone. this wall is generally a winter wall, but in the fall/spring the wall can be climbed in the shade after 2:00 in September/April and after 2:30 in October/May.

Getting There

Higher clearance vehicles are strongly recommended.
The road to this canyon has deteriorated a bit with the popularity of the light-weight 2 and 4 seat 4-wheelers, but you can drive in and out without 4 wheel drive as long as you don't try to drive back up the steep hill. Park by the bird watering thingy and then head up the wash. The trail is easy to follow, is about 1 mile long and rises up approximately 1200 feet.
The trail ends under the Clear Light Cave. The Porcelain Wall is immediately to the left end of the cave.

I forget which route - either Pinched Loaf or King Coiler finishes next to a large pocket that may have a bird's nest in it....[more]   Browse More Classics in Nevada

"3) Please switch the Nevada>Mount Potosi>East Side> Left Wall from being managed by Mike Lewis to me (Tom Raether). I contacted Mike and he let me know that he has not been there in nearly 10 years. I have added with 7 new routes and have been photographing and documenting all 33+ routes on this wall. More bolting continues.

4) Please change the Left Wall name to "Porcelain Wall". This is the correct and long standing name for what is shown on Mountain project as the left wall. When Mike put the wall info on to Mountain Project he went with left wall because that is all he know. As a reference, the old Island in the Sky guide book also identifies it as the porcelain wall."

In progress, thanks Tom.

Yeah - thanks guys! I noticed the area hadn't been added yet, and in a short amount of time I tried to get it up and at least get it started. Please take it over!!! Thanks!
