Description

A beautiful and secluded area to spend the day bouldering. Off the main highway at the bottom of a talus pile are several boulders that lie right off the dirt road. Some nice tall easy lines with flat landings, a hand full of moderates as well as some pretty hard lines. A couple of which have just recently been added. Check out charlotts web, plum picking, freedom and the lay off. Potential for more problems and difficult ones abound, there are several amazing and secret boulders hidden amongst the talus and below the rim. Those who like to explore will not be disappointed with what is up there. Most have been established and with landings built and some trail work. More pics and discriptions still to come. Once again this is all of the volcanic type stone with good solid quality. Rocks are nestled in the trees in a pleasing setting! Enjoy

Getting There

From Redding, take hwy 44 east towards Lassen national park. Continuing past the park several miles, you will make a right to stay on 44 (feather lake hwy) As you pull the grade, there will be a left turn that takes you to the overlook. Take that left and an immediate right down the dirt road. Follow the dirt road for a couple miles and you will hit the Resivoir Park on the northeast side and the boulders will be obvious.

Plum picking V7 7A+  California : Northeast California : Plum Valley boulders
Start right hand on good ledge, left on a bad shallow two finger pocket with a thumb catch, pull on stick a right heel and make your way left on decent holds and pull the sloping top. there is a big boulder just below the drop zone, of the top out, so be sure to bring a couple pads. Great line!...[more]   Browse More Classics in California
