Planeta Zarza is a great place for climbers looking for something a bit harder. The routes are mostly 6b and above, with a few 6a. Mornings are sunny, afternoon gets shade on the left side. The rock is beautiful basalt.

Getting There

From TF-1, take exit 42- Villa de Arico. Head toward Villa de Arico, taking TF-629 until you reach a roundabout. Take the second exit and continue up the road towards the climbing zone Arico Oritz. After leaving the village, continue straight for about 2 minutes. Pass 2 sharp bends, then park on the left hand side of the street right after the second bend. To the right there is a cairn that marks the trail down to the canyon.

Very nice, smooth climb. Easier at the beginning with a great pumpy layback flake at the top....[more]   Browse More Classics in International
