Place to Stay Near Longmont: Climber Seeks Skydiving A License

Hey,

There is a good chance I will be in the Boulder/Longmont area for 3-4 weeks in July to complete my AFF and A license at Mile-Hi Skydiving. I am hoping to find a place to stay for the first few days while I find something more permanent. I have no budget for housing, so I will most likely be looking for free camping, but I am not familiar with any in the area yet.

I would love to find some awesome local climbers to stay with in hopes of
A) Getting out there and getting started with my jumps ASAP
B) Meet climbers to possibly climb with while I am not jumping

A bit about me: I am a 20-something climber from SLC, been climbing about 4 years. Currently hooked on trad, but am willing to sport and boulder some as well. I don't take up much space, travel light and am very low maintenance. Friendly, vegetarian, up for some drinking and good times, pet lover, coffee addict, yoga enthusiast… (Going to stop here and add the disclaimer that this is not a dating ad! I am in a wonderful relationship and just looking for good people to hopefully call friends one day).

Any support or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Melissa

don't forget to check couchsurfing.com site for any possible places to stay a few days at a time..

Have you checked to see if Mile-Hi will let you pop a tent? My old DZ in Lake Elsinore would let me pitch a tent for nearly free.

Heyo: I don't think I have a pad for you to crash at because of my roommate situation but I just moved to the area and often need trad partners. I just started jumping in Longmont too. B license but unfortunately not a coach yet. Would definitely be down to car pool up there though and hit some some long routes too.

Hey Colorado folks,

Thank you all so much for the suggestions and offers, I am still deciding between Mile-Hi and Skydive Moab. All of the welcoming responses I have received from Co climbers makes it appealing (that and the less than 100 degree weather). But I will hopefully know in the next few days. Didn't want to leave any potential partners hanging. And if I don't get out this month, I definitely will in the near future since so many people have proven to be awesome :)
