A large, low angle sunny slab with popular bolted lines.

A relatively short approach along with sanely bolted lines makes this a well used venue.

Nine routes at a moderate friction grade, mostly from 5.6 to 5.8. Some routes share anchors, and, some have a lower angle second pitch.

Slab-tastic lower grade climbing on sticky granite. A good place to get some mileage to get used to the climbing at this area.

Getting There

Drive avenida de la Pedriza past Manzanares el Real and park at El Tranco.

Hike north between some houses to the edge of a fenced field. Follow the trail on the edge of the field to the right, and, when the trail breaks to the north, make a beeline up to the crag. 15 minutes, give or take.

Climbing Season

For the Spain area.

Fun friction climbing up neat slab features.Apparently easier if Jiminy Cricket lends you the yellow ice axe.Slightly more difficult than the lower, main slab cluster of routes. A nice progression. There's a low angle second pitch if steep hiking is your thing.Note: all these routes gobble up a single 60m rope. Put a knot in the loose end of the rope prior to climbing!...[more]   Browse More Classics in International
