Nice boulder that sits off kind of by itself. Has a slab, and arete and a steep problem on the west face and possibly a few others on the north side. A photo of Picture Perfect, the arete on this boulder was published and mislabeled as The Argument V11 in one of the magazines.

Getting There

Follow the main trail past the turn off for The Scoop, in a little ways it becomes an old road bed and becomes quite rocky. Follow this up over a ridge and as it descends the other side it will curve left and back right. After it curves back right the boulder will be on you right, it is the biggest one. You will not really see the problems until you are past the boulder looking back at the west face.

Climbing Season

Start standing or lower pinching the arete. Make moves up then a long move out left to the hueco just on the arete. Match and make another long move up to a shelf. Rock over to the right and stand up.*Front cover photo of the Jemez Rock guide book....[more]   Browse More Classics in New Mexico

Has anyone previously done the line on the slab that goes on top of the v3 arete? According to Owen's guide, the problem up the right side of the face has a name, but we did a variation today going up the left side of the face. It was just as good, if not better, than the line established on the face already; maybe a number harder than the climb on the right.
