Piccolo Lagazuoi is the crag that sits directly underneath the Falzarego Pass cable car. The face is broken into a number of sections. There are many routes - sport climbs as well as traditional lines ranging in difficulty from UIAA III to VIII. The left most section faces West and contains the route Via M Special. It is often approached from the Valparola pass parking area walking up and right. Coming further around towards the cable car, the SW face cotains Via del Buco. Directly under the car is the South face (Parete di Centro) and to the right of the cable is the final section (Parete di Destra).

Getting There

Drive to the top of Falzarego Pass. Park here for the South and SW faces. The approaches are quite short (15 minutes). For routes around on the West face you can walk down around to the left, or park down at Valparola pass and hike up to the right (20 minute approach to Via M Speziale). Read the route descriptions for more detailed information.

Starts above a man made cave (war tunnel) and follows up a prominent black water streak for the first half. Don't get sucked into the left facing chimney. It's hard. Instead, climb up towards it then move left onto the improbable black face to its left using threads. Climb up to a large ledge then follow the water streak to a second ledge. At this point trend left and up to the top....[more]   Browse More Classics in International
