Pic de Vissou from the parking lot.

Limestone crag with cracks and crimps. It is exposed South, making it a nice location in winter. Beautiful spot for paraglaiding.
You can find the topo book "Escalade au Vissou" at the bar restaurant "Le Sanglier" in Cabrières.

Getting There

After few minutes on a dirt road, park at the end, and walk down hill from the parking lot. Turn left uphill after few hundred feet for the upper tier, while top straight for the lower tier. Consider 5 minutes to get at the base of the routes.

Steep route with at least 2 overhang sections.Start from the crack (or optionally climb the face), and go straight up to the first roof. Up, and climb the second face (whitish limestone) and then move left to pass the second roof. The last overhang (which is probably the crux) can be climbed leaving the roof on your left. This is preferred if you set up a top rope climbing "mange pas l'euphorbe", and rappelled down on the right to avoid rope drag....[more]   Browse More Classics in International
