Photo location help - Tuolumne Meadows, 1980

Hey guys,

I'm heading to Yosemite in a few months and am dead keen to find the location in the photo below. This is my brother and me (I'm the little blond fellah with wicked dress sense), and it was taken around 1980.

I'd love to be able to get a shot of the same spot for my folks, but I have no idea where it is. My dad thinks it was probably in Tuolumne Meadows, possibly near a road as I wasn't up for long hikes at this stage in my life, but that's all he can tell me...

What do you reckon? Any takers on that peak? The pictured log may not be extant any more, but if it was, good Lord that'd be awesome :D

Any help would be hugely appreciated!

looks like cathedral peak, but I'm sure someone can tell you for sure.

Yup, Cathedral peak from Tuolumne Meadows.

Looks to me like it was taken from the meadows themselves, I'm guessing between the gas station/market & the road that leads out to Soda Springs Cabin on the other side of the meadows. Sounds like a fun adventure!
