Phat City has open and exposed rock with great views to the West.

Getting There

Park at the corner of CO Highway 82 and Lincoln Creek Road (just before the bridge to Lincoln Creek Campground). Cross the bridge and turn left. Follow the river for about 20 yards till you see a trail on your right. Take this trail past the Sunset Boulder (on your left) till you reach the Cube Boulder (on your right). Here the trail splits. Take the obvious trail up and to the left following cairns till you reach the wall. About 20 minutes uphill in total.

L->R (in progress)

A. Sweaty Betty, 10+, 2p, 130', gear & bolts.
B. Brown Sugar, 11+, 1p, 65', gear & bolts.

DC. Phat Free Arete, 9, 1p, bolts & gear.

Nice views, very average climbing.

After the bridge, it is about 150 paces till the trail breaks right, much farther than 20 yards! Great area, just need to clarify that little detail or you can head in wrong direction.

I agree with Mick S. about "nice views and average climbing." This area is worth visiting once when you want to find some shadier, moderate morning climbs that are away from the crowds. The two easy routes on the far right side—Sunburst and Candy Apple Red—offer decent climbing, but the staging area is on a steep hillside that is not the safest, nor most comfortable place to hang out, especially if you're in a group with more than two people.
