Located at the base of a historic castle, this bouldering and route climbing area has some loose/crumbly rock that, in some areas, looks like smaller pebbles and stones set in a natural cement-like consistency. Look around for the really solid rock. The bouldering area below the castle (5 min approach) has pretty solid rock, but still keep an eye out for rotten rock.
Take the main road south to Elbasan, turn right onto the road up to the Petrela Castle (the right turn occurs just after a small round-about and over a short bridge). Follow the long winding road with many switchbacks all the way to the obvious parking lot which is at the end of the driving ascent. Park anywhere is available, but the trees on the side overlooking the football field offer nice shade to protect your car from boiling when you return from climbing.

Move right and up to a small two-finger pocket (small rock bridge hold) and then straight up to a left and side-pull. Top out straight up and right in the obvious mini-gulley after that left hand side-pull....[more] Browse More Classics in International
