Description

This wall, roughly 100 feet tall, lies below the parking lot -- making toprope setup for these routes very easy.

Getting There

From the Three Bears descent gully, turn left and walk approximately 15-20 minutes to a tall, flat wall with an obvious horizontal break/ledge system about 3/5 of the way up.

Chicken Bone 5.8 5b 16 VI- 15 HVS 4c  North Carolina : Pilot Mountain : Parking Lot
In the true spirit of Pilot Mountain, this once spicy trad lead has been neutered into a 10-bolt sport climb.Nice little ledges and crimps lead you up the face, past a small seam and a flake to the ledge. Pull up onto the face above the ledge and head for the top. Consistent 5.7, with great moves and good exposure for Pilot....[more]   Browse More Classics in North Carolina

This area is probably the most consistently crowded area at Pilot by non-guided groups. If you want to climb alone here get here early or get lucky.
