A classic climbing area in Yogyakarta developed during the 80's, Parang Ndog is located in the south, near Parangtritis beach. To enter the area you need to pay the entrance fee for Parangtritis beach and parking fee near the area.

The wall is facing west with some spots to hide from the sun in the afternoon. During the rainy season vegetation sometimes covering the trail (and routes).

The rock type is limestone with different quality, loose rock when you go further inside the area. Since it's near the ocean, bolts in this area have corrosion. Some of them are heavily corroded. ALWAYS check the bolts condition before you climb.

Routes in this area are not equipped with two-bolts anchor. Most people do down-climbing to clean a route.

Watching the sunset from the paragliding runway to complete your climbing day. Or if you are not pumped enough after climbing you can check some boulders on the eastern side of Parangtritis beach

Getting There

From the city drive all the way to Parangtritis beach. Once you pass the bus station after the ticket gate, follow the uphill road for 10-15 minutes. Look for "Queen of The South Resort" sign on the right side and turn right there. Follow the uphill road for 15 minutes until you see a small parking lot near the paragliding runway. From the parking lot walk for 5 minutes toward the north and you will the first routes on the right hand side.
