A good friend will be splitting his time between utah and the outerbanks area.

What are his options?

I am just keeping a eye out for him.

Thank you.

Options I would say are climb in Utah and relax and work on some cardio in OBX (running on sand or surfing or something) seriously, I grew up around there and worked at a beach shop during the summers, you're 6 hours from most decent climbing, the only wall on the whole bar is at milepost 13 which is a tourist wall that has 3-4 ropes that are all set with 5.6 problems and cost something like 15 dollars to climb three times. Its not a good area for climbing but there are other things to life...right?

Hangboard and core strength in the Outer Banks, climb hard in Utah. Moore's Wall and Pilot Mountain are 5-6 hours away.

Sounds like a great split to me. Climb in Utah then enjoy the ocean playground of the OBX. There is some great surfing and world class kiteboarding out there.

Tell him to get into wreck diving, the OBX has some incredible shipwrecks to explore.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
