BETA PHOTO: Nosebleed's southeast face.

Description

Nosebleed is big and highly featured. Its west and southeast faces are climbable, but the rock varies from solid to friable. The landings are for the most part very good.

Getting There

It is located in the Southie Area. From the parking area, head downhill, cross East Creek, head up toward the Mecca Boulder on the dirt track, continue past the boulder about 50 yards, and then head uphill toward the cliff. Below the cliff, there is a foot path, head in a southwesterly direction and the boulder will be on the left. It is best to just look at the page map, it's tough to explain, this one is pretty far out there. It lies about 25 yards east of Bonetop.

Climbing Season

Southie State of Mind V5 6C  Colorado : Grand Junction Area : ... : Nosebleed Boulder
Southie State of Mind climbs a slight overhang on poor rock. Despite the rock quality, the movement is quite enjoyable. Sit start with an incut right hand edge and a bad left hand bump with a decent thumb-catch. From there, reach a left hand crimp, move the right up to a mini-pinch, stick a big right hand to a crimp, and follow with the left hand to a three-finger slot. At that point, stick another big move to a crimp, match on it, then work up the remaining features to top it out....[more]   Browse More Classics in Colorado
