North Minaret Rock Climbing
This is the "main" summit and the most obvious. It is also the most elevated by about two feet. Perhaps the easier line and the most weather friendly, ie. less exposed to the sun. The best/easiest start is up in the col where at least the belayer is protected from the elements.
Follow the Minarets cover page directions to the tower. Then walk around the NW side to a 5.4 approach to an obvious col and staging ground on a high notch.

The good news for this route is that you can 4th class up two pitches that the neighbor next door (Southern Minaret) makes you climb and no hammers needed! From the col, you can start an adventure with mostly good rock. Not until about 30 feet up the second pitch does the line sour with poor quality rock and potential for the belayer to be "Trumped" by the unintentional carpet bombing of potentially lethal sized blocks. R for the leader here but X for the belayer....[more] Browse More Classics in UT
