Will be in LaCrosse for two weeks. I know Devils Lake is 1.5hrs away. Is there anything closer?

Thanks
Tim

Black river falls has some boulders and Nacedah has some solid sport routes. Both are about an hour from la crosse though so you might as well go the extra half hour to DL.

Forgot about grandad's bluff. It's right in la crosse. Never climbed there though so I can't speak on it.

La Crosse is a good central place for lots of climbing. About 40 sport routes right in town up on the bluff. Bouldering in Westby about 20 mins away. Sport climbing in Red Wing about 1.5 hours away, and Winona has routes just up the river too. The bouldering in Black River falls is good, and about an hour away. Devil's Lake and Necedah are both worth the drive. Good luck and enjoy!

Yeah, Grandad's is right around there, if chossy limestone is your thing.

The routes on the Meader wall by and large are excellent, and the routes on the Adidas wall are good too. Witches cauldron can be dicey with all the broken glass, but it's been a few years since I frequented the area so this might have changed.

The bouldering at Westby is ok if you are bored or short on time but you'd be better off going to Devils Lake. You can't get lost at Westby though and if you only have a couple hours it's worth the visit.

Thanks all. Anyone around laCrosse interested in climbing this Sunday (22nd May) I can travel 1.5hrs. I had space in my luggage enough for harness and shoes only. I have plenty of experience and easy going. Send me a message.
