Trad climber out of Charlotte coming back after year hiatus. 5.8 leader starting back, follow into 10's. Have rope and a rack that's under construction. Feeble transportation limits me to Crowders for now but want to get back to all the other great NC areas soon. Happy to TR or sport. Whether its a power day or getting in a couple casual lines, I just generally love to get out. Would even be willing to pull down on some Dixon School boulders. Flexible schedule but I like Sats. Let me know if anybody's interested.
Me and a few guys from work just started climbing down at crowders. I have been climbing indoors(v5/5.10's top rope routes) for 2 years and hope to progress to sport climbing soon. Right now we just top rope. I am climbing 5.9-5.10s and rest of the group is right there or a little under. Have a big group going out on May 11th if you are interested(lots of newbies). Sounds like you are climbing at a slightly higher level but if you just want a day to hit a bunch of easier routes let me know. Smaller group of us are going to be out there regularly at least every other week for the summer. Would be great to have someone with trad/leading experience out there to learn from.
Great, I'm game for the 11th. I'd actually like to spend the next year or so working through what Crowders has to offer. I'm committed to getting up there weekly, even if I have to go by myself just to locate routes. What time are you planning on being at the parking lot and how big a group are you talking about?
I am new to Charlotte, (just moved here from Colorado) I m looking for people to climb with, and show me around the area. I m pretty experienced (check the ticklist). I got a bum ankle for now from Indian creek, but would like to check the place out sometime in the future.
You landed in a great state. We have some of the best and most varied climbing in the east (Check the destinations). I'll send you a message with my contact info. I'm somewhat flexible during the week and can climb every afternoon at Crowders and most Saturdays anywhere. I'd be interested in hearing about the climbing on the West side too.
