Howdy,

I am wondering if there is any formal clean up of the overgrown/faded trails on mt Lemmon to and from crags. I know there are are lot of trails up there that could us a little lov'n. Not thinking they all deserve paved roads and escalators but not having to climb over burnt fallen trees while looking for topled carin might be nice.

Hey Jeffrey, it's great to hear someone speak up about something that I've been cringing at more and more lately. Some of the access trails to our favorite crags are in a shameful state, and work definitely needs to be done. Erosion is imminent...

I'm starting to get a crew of local climbers together to tackle the most problematic areas. I hope to get some local sponsors like SH, REI, etc. on board as well. The big issue, as Scott points out, is getting the USFS to play along. However, as EFR notes, we can just fly under the radar and take care of it ourselves. It'd be real nice to get the USFS on board and be able to use their tools though!

Let me know if you'd like to join us.
