Without a doubt the best climbing on Okinawa. It has a wide range of climbing from 5.8 to 5.13. No matter if you like small sloping crimpers or lage pumpy jugs, this place has it.

Getting There

  • Using 58 (free -- takes longer): Take 58 North towards Nago. Follow directions below starting at ^.

  • Using the Expressway (fastest way -- 700 yen both ways): From Kadena take the Expressway north towards Nago all the way to the last exit (exit10).

  • ^From there take 58 north until you hit 449 and take a left towards Ocean Expo. Follow 449 past Family Mart on the left and over a small bridge; ocean should be on your left.

  • Turn right at a sign that says Katsuyama this way. On the corner you will see a building that has "Bridgestone" painted on it. Follow that road; do not turn off of it. It will wind to the right and you will see a small log shack on the right; park there.

The listed directions are not quite incomplete, but confusing. If you are looking to get to the lost world, middle ground and perch...

After turning right off of 449 (after the Bridgestone building) continue on this road (passing an initial stop light). Follow this road as it winds you closer to the obvious mountain. You will see the mentioned wooden shack on the right, but continue past it to where the road pinches down to one lane. Park at the lot on the right. Continue on foot down this road to where it T's. Take a left and then take a right on the first dirt road. Continue with listed description for approach.
