Rappel a whole rope length on the slides north side beginning down a large over laps outside corner face and then proceed nearly to the slide's base. Actual bottom of slide is filthy. Then climb back up. The east side of the summit has a 60+ft. wall that would have some descent face climbing potential but you'd have to deal with at it's base the remains of a large steel fire tower the W.M.N.F. dropped off the summit to rot below this ledge.

Getting There

Hike to the summit and bushwhack north through heinous pine forest to find the opening to this very steep slide. An armor plated suit might be helpful.

North Slide 5.7+ 5a 15 V+ 13 MVS 4b New Hampshire : WM: Waterville Valley : Mount Osceola Summit
After rappelling down the entire rope length I climbed back up sustained (5.5) face with horizontal breaks filled with small blueberry twig bushes. After the long face climb to the base of the 50ft. overlap sloping down on its north side is reached. Crux is getting onto the height of the overlap. From there on out its slightly easier as an outside corner face climb. Incredible ambiance being in the area of multiple slides to the west of this slide. ...[more]   Browse More Classics in New Hampshire
