The Climb

This is a bolted climb on the left side of the Whispering Wall with the crux coming between the second and third bolts, moving to one's left. After that it goes more or less straight up to a chain anchor at the top left in a pod. Some of the rock was only fair, but it is a worthy line for the area. The bolted route to its right is Charlotte's Web (5.11a).

8 bolts, bolted anchor/rap, maybe a sling near the top for pro

Most bolts on this route (including those at the crux section) are 1/4" buttonheads with aluminum hangers. They look relatively new and in good shape, but I chose to TR the route. Some loose-ish rock, but fun climbing and worth doing. There are currently 2 3/8" bolts with stainless hangers and rap chains at the top of the route. It's easy to traverse over to these anchors from other routes on the wall if you want to set up a TR.

Sorry, my original description, had this on the right side of the wall, sans bolted belay. MBB is actually the left route. AK you might have done Charloletes Web at 5.11. Sorry for the confusion. If in fact you did MBB, I'm grateful that it now has belay bolts/chains.

Just to verify... I did do MBB, not Charlotte's Web.

Anyone know the origin for the route name? Is it "motherboard" as in a computer's circuit board? Kind of sounds like a bluegrass number.

My guess, like you, was computer motherboard.

All bolts are now 3/8" or 1/2" SS with Camo Hangers.

There is a bit of a runout from the last bolt to the anchor, i would highly recommend to try and use a sling as intermediate.
