Description Suggest change

A beautiful tower located in Monument Creek. The tower stands roughly 250 ft. high, and is characterized by its perfect cylinder shape, and narrow base.

Getting There Suggest change

From the Colorado River:

1) Just up river from Granit Rapid at RM 93.4, hike into Monument Canyon and follow the trail up the creek bead/wash for about 0.75 mi. until you reach the obvious pinnacle.

From Hermit's Rest:

1) Hike down the Hermit's rest trail to the seasonal Santa Maria Spring and rest hut (2.2 mi. 1600 ft. elevation loss).

2) Continue down the Hermit's rest trail, passing Breezy Point to the junction with the Tonto Trail (4.8 mi from Santa Maria Spring, 1790 ft. elevation loss).

3) Hike east along the Tonto Trail to Monument Creek (2.3 mi. 215 ft. elevation loss).

Total hike one way is 9.3 mi. with a total elevation loss of 3605ft.
