Boulderers on boulder with Mine Wall in background...

Description

North facing wall a few miles from No Name Crag. Minimal development so far, but some potential. Quite a bit of good bouldering in the area.

Getting There

Hwy 2 to FS 62. After about 1/2 mile, park on L at a decomissioned logging road with large rocks blocking vehicle access. Hike road 20-30 minutes to hairpin turn with good valley views and a view of the crag to the R. Trail leaves hairpin at some nice boulders, then forks like crazy through a boulderfield. To reach crag, stay higher and further L than you would expect, then loop down and across to the base. Cliff is a 4 minute walk from the hairpin if you can find the way.

Climbing Season

For the Skykomish Valley area.

Weather station 3.5 miles from here

Big thanks to Eric Hirst for bolting this big line and putting it on the open market. This route is the full extended version of Greedy. Climb to the first belay on Greedy (6 bolts or so). Climb Greedy (SO GOOD) and just keep on trucking, clipping very nice hardware as things get steeper and steeper. There are 2 discrete cruxes separated by a good rest. Clipping the anchor is kind of desperate if you don't nail the finishing sloper just right. To me, the last boulder problem felt V6/7 ish....[more]   Browse More Classics in WA

This place and nearby walls have tons of potential for many unique routes. Should be nice and cool in the summer, making it a nice complement to nearby Index. And with its easy access, it could become quite popular.
