The middle rocks has few super awesome crack climbs on solid diorite. The climbing that ranges in 70 to 80ft long. Although the rock tends to be dirty but can easily be cleaned with more climbing. The scenic views and the quality of the climbs make up for the dirtiness.

Getting There

Hike up the trail like you're going to the top of Sharp Top Mountain, about 1.25 miles from the parking lot. Climbing is on the left. Most of the good climbs are on the west side of the outcrop.

It starts off with a fun and balancly mantle off a nice jug. Just after mantling gain a awesome hand crack. Follow the slabby hand crack to the top. Look right and enjoy the amazing view. This climb is a classic!...[more]   Browse More Classics in Virginia

A TR can be easily set up for both Apathetic Lift and Glacier Meditation without leading the routes. Just scramble around to the left (east) to a ledge at the 3/4 mark of the climbs. Duck under a boulder on your left and squeeze your way to the top. A quad-length sling will drape around a big horn at the top, no cams needed for an anchor.
