Description Suggest change

The Mess of Pottage (a corruption of an old Gaelic word) is the leftmost buttress in Coire an t-Sneachda. It is home to an abundance of moderate mixed rock/snow routes, gullies, and ramps. In the summer it hosts several moderate but high-quality rock routes. It is likely the most beginner-friendly area of the Coire, and as such is the most crowded. It's northern aspect ensured that it remains out of the sun nearly all the time.

Getting There Suggest change

Obvious complex buttress on the left of the Coire, just right of a steep snowfield. The narrow gully of Jacob's Ladder is a landmark, rising just up the right of the buttress. Most descents involve the snowfield to climber's left, but Slant and Jacob's Ladder can be safely descended.
