Maximum Impact Wall Rock Climbing
1) Max Resist 2) Maximum Impact 3) Wicked Scorpion...
The Maximum Impact Wall is a 60' tall cliff with a handful of fun cracks and seams just in front and to the left of the Second Waterfall. With the exception one bolt, all climbs lead on gear. A decent ledge on top offers plentiful gear but longer slings are needed to set up TRs. Scramble off left to descend. The name came from Joel's aggressive topiary techniques used on the thicket of cat claws bushes at the bottom.
Approach #1) Hike up the wash, bypassing the First Waterfall on the right via the easy dihedral just outside the wash or hike up the Death Coulior, the talus filled gully to the right of that until even with the top of the waterfall. Cut back left on 4th class ledges. Once back in the wash, follow it for a half mile to reach the Second Waterfall.
Approach #2) Take the Keyhole Narrows Trail or drive in (4x4) to the top and rappel through the Narrows.
