So I have these Marmot bibs that must be samples or something because I've only ever seen one other pair and they were on consignment at IME... They have gusseted knees and crotch but are tapered in the leg... Anyone know anything about these?

Do they have a back that is sort of mesh-like, while the chest is a slightly thicker but still thin (grey) fabric with one chest pocket? And the bottom of the legs have an elastic band around the ankle and a single 'clip' point at the front to attach them to your boots? If so, then yeah, I own a pair. They are probably my most treasured piece of ice climbing clothing. Largely because they are super lightweight, stretchy Gore-Tex, but bibs. Perhaps most importantly, they don't have the hugely heavy internal gators that most bibs have for skier-types. They are sort of like a a super lightweight Gore-tex version of the old Arcteryx Salopette. For the life of me I can't understand why Marmot quit making them. (I got them at a university recreation department garage sale in CA for $100 by the way).

...oh yeah, did you buy them? What size?

yeah that sounds like them. same as you i consider them my prized piece of gear. I also payed 100 for mine in atlanta georgia at thegearrevival... i just assumed they were samples, i didnt know they ever went into production. mine are size small which is perfect for me... its funny cause i know they are incredible for ice climbing by i try not to wear them for that because in afraid ill wreck em haha...
